VAASTU
SHASTRA |
 |
A
Unique method for the enhancement of the Wealth ,Health ,Happiness
and Prosperity
Vaastu
(Feng Shui) is an ancient Indian science of architecture
and buildings which helps in making a pleasant setting
or a place to live and work in a most scientific way taking
advantage of the benefits bestowed by nature, its elements
and energy fields for enhanced wealth, health, prosperity
and happiness.
|
Vaastu
Shastra unifies the science,
art, astronomy, astrology and of direction that combines
all the five elements called "Paanchbhootas"
of the nature (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space) thereby
paving the way for enhanced health, wealth, prosperity
and happiness in an enlightened environment. Vaastu Shastra
helps us to make our lives better and will secure from
things going wrong.
Our sages
and seers have knew the secrets of using all the five
elements of this universe and their special characteristics
and influences such as the magnetic field, gravitational
effect etc. of Earth, the galaxy in the sky, the directions
and velocity of the winds, light and heat of the SUN including
the effects of its Ultra-Violet and Infra-Red rays, the
volume and intensity of rainfall etc. for the advantage
of the mankind in suitably planning and constructing buildings
for dwelling, prayer, entertainment , education , working
, production and other purposes . They evolved scientific
methods and systems and confined them over the years as
'VAASTU SHASTRA'. Our sages SEARCHED it; we are only RESEARCHING
it and building the concepts.

About
Vaastu/Vastu/Feng Shui |
This
is a unique technique developed without distributing the
existing structure.
Vaastu in
Sanskrit means nature, a surrounding or environment. The
word "Vaastu" came from Vaastu, denoting anything
existing such as house, shelter, building etc. Shastra in
Sanskrit means systems. Vaastu Shastra is an ancient art
and science, containing principles and practices of constructing
buildings, which ensures a harmonious balance between man
and nature, and thereby brings all round happiness, health,
wealth and prosperity.
Its knowledge enables us to get benefits of mental peace,
health, wealth etc. and make our life happy. This science,
after propounding the rules of construction, goes to prove
that by constructing properly our buildings, villages, towns,
cities, shops, offices, factories and industries we can
make ourselves prosperous.
Studies show that our surrounding
environments have an impact on how we feel. If you have
trouble sleeping at home or if you have trouble concentrating
at work, the surrounding environment could be the cause
of your problem. If you are a medical professional, the
design of your waiting room could contribute to patient
distress and stress. If you run a hotel or spa, its decor,
no matter how expensive, may be aloof, too neutral, or uninviting.
If you run a yoga studio, its design may work against centering
oneself and diminish the benefits of yoga. Vastu Living
designs and creates environments that connect to our needs--spaces
that are also easy on the eye. We are committed to humanizing
space, and Vaastu, the first design science to use the human
body as its guiding force, shows us the way.
Man is the subject, object and the cause of architecture.
He perceives and conceives architecture in relation to his
experience of himself with the surrounding world. Through
art of design, he alters and moulds the elements of natural
environment. Out of the nine planets, our planet has life
because of the presence of five elements. Earth and Water
have limited and localized availability for the human habitat
and growth. They form apparent and fundamental choice makers
in the location and the physical form of architecture and
habitat. Sun, Air and Space are universally available and
can be molded to human needs by the act of design. In order
to understand the act of design with these five elements,
we shall have to take each one separately to appreciate
their meaning, role, and workability in architecture.
(1)
EARTH (Bhumi): - Earth, the third planet
in order from the sun, is a big magnet with North and
South poles as centers of attractions. Its magnetic field
and gravitational force has telling effects on everything
on the Earth, living and non-living. It is tilted by about
23 ˝ degrees at the meridian. It comprises of the land
structure, landform, landscape, flora and fauna. It also
establishes availability of local construction materials
and their workability. In India, we worship our Bhumi
and give her a place of our mother.
(2)
WATER (Jal): - This is represented by
rain, river, sea and is in the form of liquid, solid (ice)
and gas (steam, cloud). It forms part of every plant and
animal. Our blood is nothing but water with hemoglobin
and oxygen. The habitat and physical life are where water
is present. This is true for all life forms and eco-cultures.
The type, form and pattern of life also greatly depend
on relationship of earth and water. If we see our history,
all the cultures had developed on the bank of any water
bodies, so this shows the influence of the water on our
life, since ages.
(3)
AIR (Vaayu): - As a life-supporting element,
air is very powerful life source. Pure air with oxygen
is good for brain and blood. Atmosphere of earth, which
is about 400 kms. , In depth, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon-di-oxide,
Helium, other gases, dust particles, humidity and vapour
in certain proportions. Human physical comfort values
are directly and sensitively dependent on correct humidity,
airflow, and temperature of air, air pressure, air composition
and its content. In this aspect, air deals with the entire
body surface through skin, blood system - through respiration.
Air also represents the movement.
(4)
FIRE (Sun): - It represents light and
heat without which the life will extinct. All the days
and nights, seasons, energy, enthusiasm, passion, vigor
is because of light and heat only. Sun is a source of
mental energy too. Best minds evolve in a natural process
where the sun was temperate. Not very hot, not very cold,
just the right temperature of 24 degrees. The different
zones with the variety of climate have distinctive culture
and architecture. Sun has played an important role in
development of visual qualities of architecture in terms
of textures, colors and above all the expressions of vitality.
(5)
SPACE (Aakash): - All the above elements
are skillfully engineers towards the creation of physically
comfortable, emotionally pleasant, intellectually determinant,
totally vibrant and blissfully satisfying spaces for human
shelter and habitat. It is unending regions remote from
the earth, in which not only our solar system but the
entire galaxy exists. Its effective forces are light,
heat, gravitational force and waves, magnetic field and
others.

The
Origin of Vastu Sastra |
The
origin of Vaastu Shastra may have taken place
well over thousands of years ago. The learned men of
those days may not have lived in houses themselves but
they most definitely dedicated their lives to the development
of the science "Vaastu Shastra" or "Vaastu",
as it is popularly known today.
The principles of the science laid down during those
days were based purely on the effect of sunrays during
different times of the day. The observations and corrections
made were noted and concluded only after in-depth screening
of the situation.
Vaastu is a part of Vedas. Through
sacrament and meditation yogis of that period acquired
answers believed to have come from the cosmic mind itself
to their questions. Hence Vedas are heeded with divine
knowledge. The art of Vaastu originates in the Stapatya
Veda, a part of the Atharva Veda. |

Why
One Should Follow Vaastu / Feng Shui ? |
| Vaastu
Shastra is an ancient building science which covers
the philosophy and theory of Architectural works to
construct any building and as well as living style of
people. Vaastu Shastra is based on various natural
energies, which are available free cost in atmosphere
like: |
•
Solar Energy from Sun. Lunar Energy from Moon
• Earth Energy
• Sky Energy
• Electric Energy
• Magnetic Energy
• Thermal Energy
• Wind Energy
• Light Energy
• Cosmic Energy |
| Utilization
of such energies gives us pleasure peace, prosperity
and money etc in our life. Now days we have regulations
to construct building, whereas in past our ancestors
we had Vaastu Shastra as a religious code. As per Vastu
Shastra Purush is god of building science, hence let
us pray. Thus Vastu is rational, as it is scientific,
it is permanent as it is based on directions and directions
are unchangeable. It is beneficial as it is a bridge
between man, material and nature and above all it is
practical, as it is very simple to follow. Build your
house according to the guidelines provided by Vaastu
and lead a healthy and happy life. Vaastu can be used
for every room, every house, every temple, every shop
industry, town planning, tour, cities and even for earth.
Vaastu can be used for micro as well as for macro level.
Every
creature on earth starts its life with sunrise as
it performs day & night. Hence there is much importance
of sun in every one life. It gives ultra violet rays
in morning and infrared rays in evening which one
basic need to reduce / generate bio-chemical germs,
N2/ Oxygen / CO2 on earth.
Sun
indicates light (illumination) will power, generosity,
solar system, luck or fate, mobility and in body.
It rules over bone, eye, heart, spinal cord, blood
circulation and soul etc. Hence east direction is
auspicious; it belongs to lord Indra. North is considered
auspicious since magnetic lines of forced moves from
North to South, thus origin of all the life.
There
are three forces in action to create harmony. Wind,
water and fire (vaayu, jal and Agni). If these forces
are kept in their appropriate places, then there will
be no disturbance. But if water is put in place of
fire and wind in place of water or in any other combination,
the forces will start acting accordingly and create
disharmony and unpeacefulness. |
Relevance
Of Vaastu
Relevance
of Vaastu Shastra is being increasingly used
as a tool to analyze the role of a building in the
health and fortunes of its inhabitants. The scientific
basis of Vaastu, in terms of energy is understood
now than ever before.
Some traditional techniques for creating well being
in the build space are:
|
|
I. The
central courtyard: |
| |
The central court coincides
with the resting Vaastu purusha’s central body composed
of lung, heart and stomach. Physically this part (of
the building) offers the heart nexus or feeling center,
the lung or praana center, the stomach or digestive
center, and the nabhi or creative center .
|
| II. |
The
central Energy Axis: |
| |
The central axis known
as the brahma sutra runs through every building. Psychologically,
this axis which is known as ‘vamsa modam’ or backbone,
is considered to be the core of the building and hence
of importance in the health of the occupants.
|
| III. |
The
top Ventilator or Hot Air Vent: |
| |
The chimney, the top
ventilator, are physical representation of the vertical
movement of the standing purusha, which is also the
axis of the ‘praana’(life force). These slits helped
in the natural movement of air within the rooms of
a house. |
| IV. |
Rear
garden: |
| |
In the rear is usually
located a small garden with space available for animals.
The private garden is the buildings connection with
nature. In modern flats, this would be replaced by
a sit out or terrace with potted plants. The relationship
between the garden and nature is a great energy resource
for its occupants. |
| V. |
Rain
water catchments: |
| |
The garden is sloped
and its base built a brick lined depression for rainwater
to collect in. it is especially beneficial for hot,
dry areas. |
| VI. |
Combining
waste- water channels with a vegetable garden: |
| |
To prevent different
water from harming potable water in wells simple channels
are made so that they can be used for vegetable patches.
|
| VII. |
Mud
walls, Lime wash, Earth Red, low-dung, Thatch: |
| |
Festivals, holy days
and seasons have been systematically demarcated for
the application of lime, cow- dung and earth, red
on the walls or floor as part of a ritual. Besides
marking a special occasion they also help in containing
white ants and rodents. Spring-cleaning is not just
cleaning, but also an occasion to get rid of the negative
energy. |
| VIII. |
Medicinal
plants and herbs: |
| |
Every traditional house
recommended the planting of herbs and medicinal plants
(trees) as also flowers for ‘puja’. These plants with
their healing power and fragrance add positive energies
to the environment. |
| IX. |
Periodic
fumigation of house: |
| |
Different kinds of
incenses, herbs, minerals and plants are used for
cleansing the air in a house. Periodic use of different
herbs, neem leaves,” sambrani” incense and firewood
smoke help in getting rid of mosquitoes, bacteria,
micro-organisms as well as removing negative energy
accumulation. |
| X. |
Importance
of doors: |
| |
The entrance of a house
is one of the most powerful points. It connects the
activity-based identity of the individual with his
inner self, denoted by the private spaces within.
Traditionally, the door would be scaled and designed
for each family and would hence be unique.
|
| XI. |
Verandahs
as buffers and connectors: |
| |
In the lifestyle of
the families, the outer verandah not only played the
part of the dust and heat collector, but also helped
in the social interaction of the family. Vaastu, which
combines the rigor and discipline of design with the
traditional perspective toward individual comfort
and community linkage, is certainly relevant in a
world where isolation has become commonplace.

Benefits
Of Vaastu Sastra |
Vaastu
shastra does not
make any promise of a utopia, which holds no pain
on loss failure. What can be offered if a series of
manifest spares that can provide solar and comfort
in times of trouble, well-being in times of distress,
contentment amidst pain.
Vaastu,
in the built form, is the way to achieve a rhythmic
inner space, which would give the necessary strength
for acting in the world outside despite the pain and
the problems of life
A
building designed with the principles of Vaastu and
numerical calculations of ayadi (receiving more and
spending less energy) affects the individuals in three
ways- physical, psychological /emotional, and spiritual.
Physical:
provides comfort, ease of use, convenience achieved
by paying attention to space, high, ventilation, good
circulation, comforts, color, form.
Psychological:
creates well-being, unlocks the tensions, enhances
relationships inwardly and outwardly.
Spiritual:
Awakens the urge for understanding the meaning of
life and death and evokes the quest for touching something
more deep within and without. By ensuring that all
three aspects of a person’s life are touched, evoked,
activated and harmonized, the entire universe of the
spirit is opened up and made ware. This complete or
holistic action is the strength of Vaastu. Vaastu
architectural design enables to enjoy the following:
Clarity
of mind and creative thinking
Problem solving ability and power to make the right
decision
Happiness and healthier frame of mind
Mental alertness and refreshed feeling throughout
the day
Sound restful and refreshing sleep
Full of energy and less fatigue
Tranquility and peace of mind
Is
Vaastu Shastra (knowledge) beneficial for human life?
This knowledge tells us the technique. How does construct
a building at where we get maximum benefit from nature
and environment and live or work with convenience
and safety.
These
knowledge co-ordinates five element of our body with
the five elements of nature along with natural forces.
So that, we take advantage and benefit from nature
and environment in our daily activities and live or
work with convenience and safety.
Therefore
this knowledge is very useful and profitable for us
and helps in our daily activities.
Each
work has its nature and features, aforesaid knowledge
gives us which is the appropriate direction for a
desire work, where and how to construct a room, outer
structure and interior arrangement of rooms according
to the nature of work so that we do our work without
any problem and handedness.
This
knowledge tells us about the nature and work of directions
and what kind of work do in which direction. Vaastu
knowledge advice what kind of work is best in which
directions at where it is medium normal and average
and which direction is prohibited for concerned work.
Vaastu
Shastra tells us about the problems which comes in
human life like physical problem, mental agony, downfall
in business and other routine problem because the
nature and environment and also suggests such kind
of problem by remedial Vaastu knowledge so it evidentially
proved Vaastu knowledge is very useful and profitable
for human life and by this knowledge we get maximum
benefits from nature and environment as well as we
live or works with safety and convenience. |

Vaastu
and Natural Law |
Modern
research has proved that the ancient science Vaastu
has a firm scientific basis. As modern science developed
it began to probe to the deeper levels of Natural
Law. At each level, scientists found progressively
greater intelligence and power.
In
the last decade, modern physics explored the deepest
level of all the Unified Field of Natural Law. The
intelligence at this level of Natural Law is the source
of all the forms, and phenomena in nature. The architecture
of everything in nature is finally designed from here.
The
Natural Law has for the first time provided a building
technology that will transform the way people think
and feel – homes and offices by their mere design
create good health, clear thinking, happiness, harmony,
and prosperity for the family or business. According
to Vaastu a southern entrance is inauspicious and
interferes with the support of Natural Law and brings
negative influences to the inhabitants of the building.
Accordingly,
there is an ideal place for the living room, the kitchen,
the dining rooms, and the bedrooms. It is important
to place each room in the house in the proper location
according to its function, so that one does not become
sleepy in the dining room or hungry in the study.
This is one of the many factors that are considered
to ensure that every aspect of daily activity is in
harmony with Natural Law.
Just
as every part of the human body is properly placed
and precisely proportioned; there is an ideal proportion
for every room in the home and office for Natural
Law to provide maximum support.
Latest
research in neuro science has shed light on the fact
that our Cosmic Counterparts – the sun, moon, and
the planets – have a one-to-one relationship to the
different parts of the brain: basil ganglia, thalamus
and hypothalamus. This natural tendency to align with
the cosmos has led to the concept of orienting buildings
towards the east to gain the full support of the rising
sun. |
